Santa Barbara Part II

Tuesday was spent at the Santa Barbara Museum of Natural History and The Ty Warner Sea Center.
We had debated over taking the girls to the Museum of Natural History, we thought Kayla would most likely enjoy it but weren't sure if Brooklyn would.
Luckily we went because both of the girls enjoyed it and so did we.
Not only was the Museum filled with interesting exhibits but the grounds were absolutely beautiful!

Right next to the museum is the Santa Barbara Mission.
We didn't have time to stop and walk through it but I definitely want to go back to see it soon.

Up next was the Ty Warner Sea Center out on the pier.
It's actually really small inside but was still well worth the visit.

Inside we got to touch small sand sharks and there was a tank filled with starfish that you could feel and hold which we could barely keep Brooklyn away from.

Here is Kayla hoping to find out that they caught some sand crabs as they pull up the basket from the ocean floor.

After spending some time in there we decided to go back to the hotel so the girls could get some rest before dinner.
Around dinner time is when the rain finally moved in.

Wednesday morning we woke up to another beautiful day but unfortunately it was time for us to head back home.
I can't wait to go back to see everything else Santa Barbara has to offer.
It was a fun little getaway and the girls really enjoyed it and also can't wait to go back.
Kayla really misses the museum and keeps asking when we can go there again.

life rearranged

We started out the trip with lunch at In N Out

The girls had never been, they loved it and were happy to get these hats to wear.

I thought this was a cute pic of them at the Santa Barbara Zoo until I later realized Kayla's eyes were shut.

Kayla and I at dinner, I'm waiting patiently for my lobster bisque!

Daddy and Brooklyn doesn't she look sweet?
Don't be fooled ;)

They don't even sleep in on vacation atleast there were cartoons to watch.

Kayla took a picture of hubby and I at the Santa Barbara Natural History Museum.  We loved this place!

The forecast originally called for thunderstorms all day, we got lucky and it didn't even rain until around 5pm.  It was beautiful but cold!

After hitting up the museum and the sea center we went back to the room where everyone fell asleep except me.  It was nice to have some quiet time.

Family breakfast pics.

It's only fitting that we end the vacation the same way it started right?
Hubby looked at me like I was crazy when I said I wanted In N Out again for lunch before we got home.
Don't worry we are all on detox after all the junk we ate this week ;)

Santa Barbara

Kayla had this week off from school so we took a little trip up to one of my very favorite cities, Santa Barbara.
I made the reservations last Tuesday when the weather called for warm, sunny skies but wouldn't you know it the following Wednesday the weather changed calling for rain and thunderstorms.
Luckily they were wrong and although we did have cooler weather than we had hoped for we only had rain one evening.

We left Monday morning and headed straight to the Santa Barbara Zoo.
The last time we were at this zoo was when I was pregnant with Kayla and we couldn't wait to one day bring her here.

I love that the zoo is the perfect size for little ones. You can easily see everything in less than two hours.

Both of the girls had a lot of fun, although we did have a few moments since they were both tired.
Neither of them napped on the ride up, they were too excited.

Kayla was so excited to see animals she had never seen in person before, the lion especially.

Before leaving the girls picked out one special friend to leave with, Brooklyn went straight for the pink, purple and sparkly animal which is so true to her personality and Kayla knew right away she wanted a giraffe.

After a couple of hours spent at the zoo we went to check into our hotel.
We stayed at the Fess Parker Doubletree and loved how pretty the property was and it was right across the street from the beach.
Unfortunately we didn't get to go down to the sand at all because it was windy and cold.
Brooklyn kept asking the entire time we were there if we could go to the beach and we told her no it was too cold and she would tell us she just wants to build a sand castle with a little bit of water.
Hopefully we can go back and enjoy the beaches next time.

Once we got settled in we went to State Street to walk around and find somewhere to eat for dinner.

I don't think there is an ugly building in Santa Barbara.
There is so much to see and do there it is amazing.
I'll be back with more of our trip soon!
